Job Description

Disinfectant Solutions of Atlanta is excited to announce a new opening for a part-time Custodian role specifically designated for weekdays under the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contracts. This position calls for a meticulous individual eager to maintain and enhance the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities. Please note, this role requires your presence on-site as it is not amenable to remote work arrangements.

Ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly environment, the custodian will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will take pride in providing a pleasant environment for the public and staff alike. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning the building by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Ensuring that all indoor areas and surfaces are clean, including windows, furniture, and light fixtures.
  • Regularly emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste in a sanitary manner.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs to ensure everything is in good working order.
  • Keeping an accurate log of inventory and ordering cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Securing the building after hours by checking that all doors are locked and all lights are switched off.
  • Coordinating with external cleaning services for specialized tasks that exceed routine cleaning duties.
  • Maintaining a pest-free environment inside the facility by following appropriate pest control practices.
  • Monitoring the condition of furniture and fixtures, applying polishing and waxing methods when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven experience in custodial, janitorial or cleaning roles, preferably within a large facility or public space.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience in basic maintenance and repairs.
  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and products, and the ability to handle and store them safely.
  • Physical stamina and strength needed to perform labor-intensive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and responsibility.
