Position Summary

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a high-energy, quota-carrying outbound prospector responsible for generating qualified pipeline across HealthcareLive's three core ICP personas: VP/Director HR, CFO/VP Finance, and VP Operations/Safety. The BDR executes the company's 3-2-1 outreach cadence (3 emails, 2 calls, 1 LinkedIn touch) targeting Dream 100 accounts in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and related high-injury industries. This role sits at the intersection of marketing and sales, converting inbound leads generated by paid campaigns and content assets into booked demos, while simultaneously running proactive outbound sequences against named accounts. The BDR is the first human touch in the HealthcareLive sales cycle and a critical driver of the company's $8M pipeline target.

Management Responsibilities

  • Individual contributor role — no direct reports
  • Collaborates daily with marketing operations, paid media manager, and DM
  • Partners with Account Executives to hand off qualified demos and ensure smooth pipeline handover

Daily Tasks & Standard Work

  • Execute 3-2-1 outreach cadences on Dream 100 accounts via email, phone, and LinkedIn using Clay-enriched data synced to Salesforce
  • Qualify and respond to inbound marketing leads, including BDR score alerts (40+ pts) and ROI Calculator completions,  within 15 minutes during business hours
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM hygiene: log all activities, update ABM outreach stage, and ensure accurate lead/contact records for all touched accounts

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend 2–4 executive dinners or regional trade shows per year to support relationship-based pipeline development
  • Contribute to market research and ICP refinement by surfacing insights from prospect conversations to the DM
  • Participate in content review, occasionally review blog posts, case studies, or ad copy for field-level accuracy
  • Support onboarding of future BDR hires by sharing playbooks and best-practice outreach examples

Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree

Experience

  • 1–3 years of outbound B2B sales, inside sales, or business development experience preferred; occupational health, HR tech, or benefits/insurance industry experience a strong plus
  • Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding outreach volume targets; experience working multi-stakeholder deals (HR + Finance + Operations) highly valued

Skills and Abilities

Certifications / Licenses / Registrations

  • None required
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Sales Representative certification a plus

Computer Skills

  • Salesforce CRM (required) — must be able to manage leads, contacts, accounts, and tasks; log all activities; and work BDR alert queues
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay (or similar enrichment platform), Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for outreach personalization a plus

Languages

  • English, fluent verbal and written communication required
  • Spanish, conversational proficiency strongly preferred (supports outreach to HR leaders at companies with LEP workforces)
