Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct oral examinations and assessments to identify dental hygiene issues.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and topical fluoride applications.
  • Apply sealants and administer local anesthetics as required.
  • Develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient dental histories and documentation.
  • Guide patients on proper teeth care and propose preventive dental practices.
  • Educate patients on improving and maintaining good oral health.
  • Ensure the sterilization of dental instruments and the operatory before each use.
  • Collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to provide top-notch dental care.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in dental hygiene and patient care.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and contribute to team development.
  • Manage dental emergencies effectively as they arise.

Requirements

  • Active South Carolina Dental Hygiene License.
  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Exceptional patient care skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor.
  • Strong multitasking ability along with keen attention to detail.
  • A commitment to a team-oriented approach and a willingness to assist in various tasks.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and adherence to all health and safety regulations.
