Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct oral examinations and assessments to identify dental hygiene issues.
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and topical fluoride applications.
- Apply sealants and administer local anesthetics as required.
- Develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients.
- Record and maintain accurate patient dental histories and documentation.
- Guide patients on proper teeth care and propose preventive dental practices.
- Educate patients on improving and maintaining good oral health.
- Ensure the sterilization of dental instruments and the operatory before each use.
- Collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to provide top-notch dental care.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in dental hygiene and patient care.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and contribute to team development.
- Manage dental emergencies effectively as they arise.
Requirements
- Active South Carolina Dental Hygiene License.
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist.
- Exceptional patient care skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor.
- Strong multitasking ability along with keen attention to detail.
- A commitment to a team-oriented approach and a willingness to assist in various tasks.
