Emergency Physicians Inc. Columbus is an independent, 100% physician owned, democratic group seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Physician to join our group.

Emergency Physicians Inc. Columbus is an independent, 100% physician owned, democratic group based in Columbus, Indiana. We have a clear and transparent 2-year partnership track.  Our group staffs the emergency department at Columbus Regional Hospital with an annual ED volume of ~48,000.

Columbus Regional Hospital is an independent county owned 225 bed hospital.  24/7 Cath lab STEMI referral center. Primary Stroke Center with 24/7 Tele-neuro coverage (neurosurgery requires transfer), 24/7 ED Crisis/Stress Team with adult inpatient psych on site.  24/7 ICU coverage.  24/7 Adult and Pediatric hospitalist program.  OB > 20 weeks goes to L/D for evaluation for any pregnancy related complaint.  Primary transfers out are major trauma, neurosurgery, pediatric psych, and pediatric ICU.  Overall we have a fantastic group of consultants and hospitalists with a very collegial culture among the medical staff.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
  • Regular and Nocturnist Position Available

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients in an emergency room setting.
  • Assess patients quickly, prioritize high acuity conditions, and deliver efficient treatment.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and assess interventions.
  • Administer medications, and perform procedures as necessary under established guidelines.
  • Record patient information meticulously, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Guide and supervise the emergency healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Stay current with advancements in the field to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Participate in continuous education, training, and certifications as required.
  • Contribute to the governance and operational management of the hospital's emergency services.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the highest levels of clinical standards.
  • Providing support to nocturnist schedules with the adaptability for 2-3 less shifts per month compared to other shifts.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Must possess a current medical license and board certification in emergency medicine.
  • Proven experience as an Emergency Medicine Physician.
  • Strong ability to make decisions quickly and manage clinical emergencies effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate patient interaction.
  • Open to relocation if not currently residing in the Columbus, Indiana area.
  • Must be open to becoming a partner after an initial 2-year employment period, subsequent to which a partnership will include enhanced benefits like increased bonuses.
  • Commitment to a full-time schedule of approximately 1300 hours annually.
  • Willingness to engage in a collaborative hospital environment.
