Blue Grass Family Dentistry is delighted to announce the opening for a Full-Time Registered Dental Hygienist. Located in our state-of-the-art dental office, this role requires on-site presence as it is not a remote position. As a well-established two-doctor practice, we offer a professional atmosphere conducive to growth and learning, furnished with modern dental technologies and systems including digital radiographs, intraoral cameras, Eaglesoft software, and fully electronic patient records.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride treatment and sealant application
  • Assess dental condition and needs of patients using patient screening and monitoring procedures
  • Analyze x-rays and evaluate dental needs as necessary while considering patient care, comfort, and time efficiency
  • Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain good oral health
  • Perform oral cancer screenings and periodontal disease evaluations during each exam
  • Coordinate with dentists and other staff to plan and manage treatment
  • Maintain patient electronic dental records and document per practice protocols
  • Ensure strict compliance with infection control, environmental, and safety procedures and regulations
  • Recommend products and devices for patients’ home care
  • Manage dental emergencies by providing and facilitating appropriate treatment
  • Stay current with advancements in the field of dental hygiene and dental health technology through continuing education and professional development

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
  • Valid dental hygienist license in the state of practice
  • Local anesthesia certification is mandatory
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental practice
  • Proficient in using dental technology and computer systems, including digital radiographs and practice management software like Eaglesoft
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on working well with team members and patients
  • Detail-oriented with a professional attitude and appearance at all times
  • Capability to diagnose and plan treatments efficiently and effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and adhering to the highest standards of ethics and integrity
