The position is full-time and requires the director’s presence on-site at our healthcare facility—this is not a remote job opportunity.
As an Experienced Hospice Clinical Director, you will play a pivotal role in steering our clinical teams and setting the tone for the compassionate services we are known for. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and promote a positive, dynamic culture and work environment for hospice care staff that supports our mission and values.
- Lead strategic planning and execution to enhance quality of service, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of hospice staff to ensure a compassionate and highly skilled team.
- Implement comprehensive patient care programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Regularly evaluate service effectiveness and implement improvements in patient care and staff wellness programs.
- Ensure ethical medical practices and require adherence to all professional standards.
- Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability across all hospice clinical operations.
- Strengthen relationships with external partners, including healthcare providers and insurance agencies, to enhance service delivery and patient care.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families to ensure that care plans consistently meet the individual needs of patients.
- Lead by example, fostering an environment that is caring, supportive, and proactive.
- Drive initiatives that integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Address emergencies and critical situations with professionalism and the necessary decisiveness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospice and palliative care trends, practices, and legal regulations.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with a strong background as a hospice case manager, including significant operational and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build, nurture, and lead a culture of compassion and dedication in a clinical setting.
- Proven track record of effective team-building and human resources management, including hiring and recruiting in a healthcare context.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships with patients, families, and staff.
- Driven to grow and expand services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
- Decisive and resilient, with the ability to handle high-stress situations and make difficult decisions promptly.
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid services, and adherence to all legal and ethical guidelines.
- Strong financial acumen, capable of budget management and cost control without compromising service quality.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in hospice care practices.
- Capacity to inspire, motivate, and maintain high expectations for quality and performance.
- Availability to be onsite as required and flexibility to respond to urgent situations outside typical work hours.
