Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Greater Cleveland Area
Employer: VNA of OhioJob Type: Full-Time | Day Shift | Community-Based
Tired of Feeling Like a Number? Burned Out by the Same Walls, the Same Shifts, the Same Chaos?
You’re not alone. Too many psychiatric nurses feel stuck in high-acuity environments that drain more than they give. You became a nurse to help people heal, not to push paper or run damage control on overcrowded units. If you're craving real connection, meaningful autonomy, and time to actually nurse—there’s a place for you here.
At VNA of Ohio, we bring care to people’s homes and lives, not just their charts. Our mental health nurses support clients where they’re most vulnerable, most honest, and most capable of change—in their own environments. It’s calm. It’s intentional. And it’s the kind of work that reminds you why you chose this path in the first place.
What You’ll Do
Build relationships with adults managing psychiatric and co-occurring medical conditions
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop patient-centered care plans
Administer and manage psychiatric medications with clinical insight and empathy
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and medication adherence
Respond to behavioral health crises with calm, confident interventions
Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers
Document using a mobile-friendly EHR—on your own time, not someone else’s stopwatch
What We’re Looking For
Active RN license in Ohio
At least 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience (in any setting)
Strong clinical judgment, emotional intelligence, and a calm presence under pressure
Comfort working independently in the field with team support behind you
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
What You’ll Get (That You’re Probably Not Getting Now)
Competitive pay that respects your experience
Real-time mileage reimbursement
Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match
A culture that values people, not productivity quotas
Leadership that listens, supports, and keeps things simple
Most importantly: space to do the kind of work that matters
You didn’t become a psych nurse to survive your shift. You became one to change lives.
If you’re ready to reconnect with your purpose—and do it in a place that respects your time, voice, and expertise—apply today.
