HVAC Outside Sales Representative 

 General Insulation Company is a national wholesale distributor of commercial and industrial insulation products, HVAC supplies, and other associated construction supplies.   It is the largest privately held mechanical insulation distributor in North America.   As a family-owned company, we have built our business by providing the highest quality products and superior service to our customers.

About the role:

We are looking for an engaging, self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to help grow and maintain relationships across Fort Worth and West Texas territories. You will report to your general manager and sales manager and take responsibility for the entire sales process to further grow your book of business and increase sales overall for General Insulation.  

Job Requirements:

• Develop and manage a defined sales territory to achieve revenue and margin goals 

• Build strong relationships with HVAC contractors, builders, and mechanical companies 

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities (cold calling, jobsite visits, referrals)

• Promote and sell HVAC products such as ductwork, fittings, equipment, and accessories 

 • Provide product knowledge, training, and support to customers and inside sales teams 

 • Conduct regular jobsite visits to support projects and ensure customer satisfaction 

 • Prepare quotes, follow up on bids, and close sales 

 • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies 

 • Coordinate with warehouse and operations to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment 

 • Provide outstanding customer service, be able work with all customers and vendors in related field.

• 3+ years of sales experience (HVAC, construction, or related industry is a must) 

 • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, or mechanical products (preferred but will train to the right person) 

 • Proven ability to generate leads and close large job orders 

 • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 

 • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills 

• Ability to read blueprints/plans is a plus

• Must have own vehicle for work with a  valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within territory.

• Proficient writing and computer skills. Must be able to write or type detailed reports. Work with common computer programs excel, word, and be willing to be trained and learn GIC programs for sales and inventory.
