Civil Process Server

Salary Range:  $15.00 - $16.00 hour


Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Civil Process Server to join our team. The Process Server will be responsible for delivering legal documents to individuals and entities involved in civil court cases. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding of local legal procedures. A company vehicle will be assigned for all official duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve legal documents (e.g., subpoenas, summonses, complaints, restraining orders, eviction notices) in accordance with local and state laws.

  • Accurately verify the identity of recipients and ensure proper service procedures are followed.

  • Document all attempts and successful service deliveries using a mobile app or written reports.

  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of service attempts, including time, date, location, and recipient interaction.

  • Communicate with supervisors and office staff regarding service status, challenges, or legal issues.

  • Maintain the company-assigned vehicle in good condition and ensure it is used strictly for work purposes.

  • Adhere to all company protocols, confidentiality standards, and legal guidelines.

  • Occasionally locate individuals through skip tracing or investigative tools if addresses are outdated or incorrect.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Experience as a process server (preferred but not required—training may be provided).

  • Strong knowledge of local/state civil procedure laws (or willingness to learn).

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and respect for privacy.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and handle difficult or sensitive situations calmly and legally.

  • Smartphone and basic tech proficiency for updating service records (training provided if necessary).

  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.
