Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring effective communication with patients.
- Conduct insurance verification of benefits and eligibility to streamline patient intake processes.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records utilizing EHR software to support clinical accuracy and patient confidentiality.
- Keep examination rooms clean and prepared for patient visits and various medical procedures.
- Assist in surgical procedures, providing necessary support to surgeons and other medical staff.
- Support the doctor during clinic hours, managing patient flow and ensuring all medical supplies are readily available.
- Occasionally rotate between front and back office roles to support overall office operations and enhance service delivery.
- Provide excellent patient care with a consistent customer service attitude, ensuring a positive experience for each patient.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a back office or similar role; experience in vascular surgery practice is an asset.
- Knowledge of using EHR software, with a preference for candidates experienced in AthenaOne.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of maintaining accurate and detailed clinical documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish highly preferred.
- A strong work ethic and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Formal training or certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Commitment to adhering to privacy laws and maintaining confidentiality pertaining to patient information.
