We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire a culinary team at Rodizio Grill, the first authentic Brazilian Steakhouse or Churrascaria in the United States. We are actively seeking an experienced Kitchen Lead to oversee our bustling kitchen operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences through outstanding culinary creations.

This is a full-time role requiring a dedicated professional who is prepared to commit to the demands of an energetic kitchen. Please be advised, this job is location based and is not eligible for remote work. The selected candidate will be tasked with upholding the high standards of our cuisine and dining experience that our patrons have come to expect. As the Kitchen Lead, your leadership will directly influence the efficiency and cohesion of kitchen operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage kitchen staff to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, maintaining a high level of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Oversee the training and development of kitchen staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistent quality in daily operations.
  • Heavily involved in daily preparations alongside your team to ensure excellent quality and presentation of every dish.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed while managing kitchen budgets and forecasting storage needs.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to adhere to legal and company standards.
  • Leading coworkers by setting a positive, energetic tone that promotes teamwork and efficiency.
  • Supervising cooks and managing the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of all food items to meet operational needs.
  • Addressing and resolving any issues related to staff or customer dissatisfaction within the kitchen promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain consistent communication with front-of-house management to ensure a seamless service and dining experience for all guests.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the provision of top-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Utilize and maintain kitchen equipment responsibly and train staff on proper operation procedures to ensure safety and reliability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Lead or similar supervisory role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
  • Familiarity with best practices in inventory management and cost control.
  • A sincere passion for food, aiming for high quality in every dish served.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and motivate employees to produce a high-caliber product.
  • A competent grasp of English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Demonstrable commitment to health and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends, holidays, and nights as required by the staffing and operational needs of the restaurant.
