VistaRiver Healthcare is excited to announce a full-time opening for a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic team. As a CNA at VistaRiver Healthcare, you will play a pivotal role in our patient care team, ensuring the comfort and health of our patients. This is not a remote job opportunity. It demands a proactive and hands-on approach to support the daily lives of our residents and patients under the supervision and direction of our skilled nursing staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care and assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and grooming under the guidance of registered nurses.
- Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure to help track patient health metrics.
- Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and care as required.
- Ensure that patient environments are clean, safe, and orderly.
- Communicate effectively with patients to understand their needs and concerns, offering emotional and social support.
- Document patient interactions and care performed, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Manage supplies and ensure that all equipment used for patient care is sanitized and properly maintained.
- Attend to patient mobility needs, including aiding with transferring patients to and from wheelchairs, beds, and other areas.
- Support the healthcare team in the implementation of patient care plans.
- Contribute to team efforts by collaboratively working with other staff to enhance patient outcomes and the overall patient-care environment.
Requirements
- Current and valid state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health care environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of a CNA, including considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving the whole body to lift, balance, walk, and handle materials.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR, certification preferred.
- Good observation skills to notice changes in patient conditions and needs.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ethical healthcare standards and patient privacy regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential weekends and nights, as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or education in healthcare can be advantageous.
