Job Description Summary:

The Territory / Hospital Representative is responsible for developing census as defined through targeted goals of the business plan and developing referral relationships within the geographic territory with an emphasis on face-to-face contacts. The Territory / Hospital Representative is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to referral source requests and concerns. In addition, the representative will assist with coordination of referral to admission conversion process and represent Tender Care Home Health in community-related activities. This is a salaried position that includes referral commission. This position is for the Las Cruces, NM and surrounding areas. 

Report to: Director of Business Development 

Job Duties (include, but are not limited to the following):

• Conducts daily marketing operations including referral source development through established marketing processes and established route system.
• Employs marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve referral volume projections.
• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
• Builds and monitors community, customer, payer and patient perceptions of Tender Care Home Health as a high quality provider of services.
• Provides support and input in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
• Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of Tender Care Home Health markets including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor’s market positioning.
• Responsible for maintaining, updating and reviewing weekly marketing reports.

Knowledge and Competency: 

Must demonstrate basic knowledge of all procedures included in the Community Liaison job description. Must have the ability to follow instructions from the Chief Financial Officer, and other professional staff. Ability to communicate effectively with managers, and co-workers. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to patient. 

Work Ethic: 

Complies with the Tender Care Home Health dress code, projects a professional attitude toward self, patients, and other staff members.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in health care marketing management, preferably in home health.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self motivated.
• Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with referral sources, customers and the community.
• Demonstrates good communications, negotiation, and public relations skills.
• Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of assigned geographic areas.
