We are excited to announce a full-time opportunity in our dynamic team in Greenhouse Production. This role is integral to our operations and is suited for individuals passionate about plant cultivation and maintenance. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend to all aspects of plant growing, including seeding, pruning, transplanting, spacing, and watering.
• Perform field maintenance activities such as pulling weeds, thinning crops, and spraying plants with herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides.
• Set, pull, sort, and store plants according to variety, growth stages, and shipment schedules.
• Manage irrigation tasks, including setting up and moving irrigation pipes and equipment, as well as overseeing both manual and automated watering systems.
• Handle the logistics of plant deliveries, including unloading carts, bins, trucks, and wagons at retail locations. Sort products for quality, and repackage for sales.
• Maintain greenhouse conditions, which may involve covering or uncovering structures with or without the use of power tools.
• Operate various types of equipment safely and competently to protect all stakeholders, including plants and facility assets.

Requirements

• Demonstrate a proactive approach to decision-making and accountability for actions.
• Possess a robust work ethic, be adaptable to varying work hours, and be available as needed, especially during peak seasonal periods.
• Commit to completing tasks efficiently and effectively, employing whatever means necessary within ethical boundaries.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks which include lifting nursery products up to 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet, and working in bent positions for prolonged periods.
• Capable of sustained physical activity, including repetitive movements and extensive walking throughout the greenhouse and field areas.
• Ready to work in environments that can be dusty, warm, and humid, noting that such conditions may exacerbate certain allergies.

Starting compensation for this position is $13 per hour, with the potential for increases based on performance and tenure within the company.
