Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues within automotive systems such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, and brakes.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and services including oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
  • Inspect various systems and components of cars and trucks and execute repairs as needed.
  • Conduct state emission and safety inspections according to regulated standards.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Collaborate with other shop personnel and interact with customers to provide exceptional service and detailed explanations of repair work.
  • Stay current with industry technology and applicable regulatory demands.
  • Manage inventory levels of tools and supplies, and place orders as necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and workplace policies.
  • Write clear, concise service reports for every job, outlining the problem, the solution, and the parts used.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to order necessary parts for repairs.
  • Enhance workshop efficiency by maintaining a clean and orderly workspace at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or a similar role within the automotive field.
  • Technical certification or degree in Automotive Technology preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern automotive electronics and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to handle tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills conducive to a harmonious workplace.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods.
  • Flexibility with work hours and available for overtime when necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Commitment to continued education in automotive advancements and technologies.
