GroHR is excited to announce a career opportunity for an experienced IT Operations Manager at our well-established Yacht Sales & Charter Enterprise located in Annapolis, MD. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a dynamic and proactive professional to oversee and enhance our IT infrastructure. As this role is central to our operational success, the ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing complex IT environments with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.

The IT Operations Manager will not only maintain but also evolve the technological frameworks that support our extensive network of yacht sales and charter services across the U.S. and Caribbean. The position demands hands-on management of our office network, security measures, server integrations, and connectivity solutions at numerous national events.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and document LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and switching across multiple locations.
  • Maintain robust security protocols including IDS/IPS, manage SSL certificates and DNS configurations.
  • Oversee the integration with remote servers hosted at Experian in Baltimore, ensuring secure connectivity and optimal performance.
  • Manage enterprise SaaS tools including Microsoft 365, Zoho CRM, and QuickBooks Enterprise, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Develop and implement data protection strategies, focusing on retention, e-discovery, and loss prevention.
  • Establish a comprehensive IT security program that includes asset inventory, patch management, and incident response.
  • Support event and boat show IT needs from planning and packing IT equipment to on-site support and troubleshooting.
  • Drive continuous improvement through regular review of IT processes and systems, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of hands-on experience in IT administration with SME-level skills in networking (VLAN's/VPN's, routing, firewalling) and Microsoft 365/Entra ID/Intune.
  • Expertise in handling modern security practices such as MFA, conditional access, regular patching, and incident response.
  • Detailed knowledge of managing remote server environments and ensuring secure, reliable connections.
  • Experience administering Zoho CRM and Quickbooks Enterprise.
  • Experience with configuring and managing Starlink and other event-based connectivity solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on documentation and the ability to convey technical guidelines to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment up to approximately 40 lbs and availability to travel 15-25% of the time, especially to support events.
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA/Network+, AZ-104/305, MS-102, Security+, etc.) are preferred.
  • Practical experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell or Python is advantageous.

Success Metrics

  • Maintain core network and SaaS services uptime of >99.9%.
  • Ensure 100% implementation of MFA along with a patch SLA of ≤14 days.
  • Conduct quarterly phishing tests and deliver timely remediation training.
  • Execute at least two successful disaster recovery tests per year.
  • Achieve an internal customer satisfaction score of ≥ 4.6/5 from support tickets.
