Hanson Consulting Group is seeking a detail-oriented Gaming Release
Manager to join our team supporting our client in the gaming industry!
From product
creation and configuration in store portals, to certification submission and
release, you will own all aspects of the release pipeline. You will partner
closely with team members across multiple disciplines to understand progress
towards release tasks, and provide visibility and clear communication around
release plans, ensuring each release is as smooth as possible. Individuals
successful in this role thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure, high-visibility
work environments and can produce high-quality work without error.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain plan of record for daily build releases and planned future releases.
- Attend/facilitate ship room meetings and adjust changes to test/release schedule.
- Work with partners on the team to create the release schedule and keep stakeholders up to date on any risks or potential delays.
- Work with team members across multiple disciplines to ensure all tasks associated with a release are completed on time, and any blocking issues are communicated clearly to stakeholders.
- Execute release processes on a regular cadence throughout the product lifecycle, from betas, to full releases, to hotfix releases.
- Become familiar with each shipping platform’s submission portals, policies, and certification requirements.
- Document and share knowledge of the release processes with other studio Release Managers, ensuring work can be shared when necessary.
- Respond to requests for product creation or changes in store portals across products.
- Assist with product page description updates, pricing changes, product code requests, build ingestion, cert submission, and product flighting for other studios products as needed.
- Drive daily build ingestion and assignment.
- Escalate issues encountered with internal tools to unblock work.
- Monitor sign-off threads and promptly assign releases to appropriate audiences.
- Check in build changes.
- Provide guidance and support ad-hoc requests.
- Prepare and send daily reports.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Previous Release Management or Producer experience.
- 2+ years of experience in the software or gaming industries preferred.
- Experience with submission process, store requirements, store portals for one or more platforms (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android).
- Must be highly adaptable; able to switch priorities with accuracy and precision.
- Process driven- ability to execute existing team processes, enhance processes and develop individual processes to manage workflow.
- Candidate must be successful working individually and in a team environment; this position involves shared work across team members and requires daily hand offs.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment- the needs of the business are ever-changing.
- Critical thinker who can analyze impact of actions downstream and anticipate potential issues.
- Must be an excellent and clear communicator with ability to communicate across multiple organizational levels.
- Commitment to short and long-term projects, seeing them through to the very end.
- Ability to come up to speed very quickly and take feedback along the way.
