Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial dental assessments and prepare patient for dental examinations.
- Perform routine dental cleanings and assist in the management of oral infections.
- Gather dental diagnostic information including periodontal charting, x-rays, and digital scans.
- Review and record patient medical histories and chief concerns.
- Educate patients on dental needs, preventative care strategies, and oral hygiene best practices.
- Implement treatment plans and assist in the management of dental and oral disorders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment.
- Adhere to infection-control and safety guidelines as per the dental practice standards.
- Collaborate with dentists and other clinical staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in dental hygiene and patient care.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene or related field.
- Valid dental hygienist license.
- Open to new graduates and veterans alike with at least some degree of experience in a dental practice.
- Excellent chairside manner with a genuine care and concern for patients' well-being.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
