Aboff’s Paints, a family owned and operated business on Long Island for more than 95 years has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Director of Store Operations to lead multi-location retail performance, ensure operational excellence, and drive sales growth and profitability across our paint store network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations for all store locations from Western Suffolk County to the East End.
• Ensure stores open/close on time and operate in compliance with company policies
• Drive sales growth, profitability, and year-over-year performance
• Conduct regular store visits and provide coaching to store managers
• Ensure stores are clean, well-stocked, safe, and customer-focused
• Minimize shrink and ensure accurate inventory receiving procedures
• Recruit, train, develop, and supervise store management and staff
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, timekeeping, and PTO
• Serve as primary contact for store employee matters and issue resolution
• Participate in compensation discussions and accounts receivable efforts

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7–10+ years of multi-unit retail operations leadership experience
• Strong understanding of retail financials, labor management, and inventory control
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams

Preferred:

• Experience in paint, coatings, building materials, or specialty retail
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to paint products

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 60+ lbs. regularly and move up to 200 lbs. using a hand truck
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Speaking, hearing, and vision required
