At Segal McCambridge, junior paralegals are not limited to purely administrative tasks. From day one, you will be an active member of the litigation team, working closely with experienced trial attorneys who are invested in your development. You will gain exposure to all phases of litigation, from case inception through resolution and trial, while building a strong foundation in toxic tort and product liability defense.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career paralegal who wants to deepen their litigation skills, take ownership of their work, and grow into a more advanced paralegal role within a nationally respected firm.

What You’ll Do

  • Support attorneys in managing an active litigation caseload
  • Assist with drafting, formatting, and filing pleadings, motions, and written discovery
  • Conduct legal and factual research under attorney supervision
  • Organize, review, and manage discovery materials and document productions
  • Assist with deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
  • Coordinate calendaring, filings, and service of process
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced litigators on complex matters

As you gain experience, you will have the opportunity to take on increased responsibility, including more substantive discovery management and case support.

What We’re Looking For

  • Paralegal certificate, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent legal experience
  • Prior experience in a law firm or litigation environment
  • Interest in civil litigation; toxic tort or product liability experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
