PURPOSE:
This position will be actively in the field as a client-facing member of our team to estimate commercial and industrial paint projects from concept through completion. This position will drive sales and have quarterly and annual sales goals.
Project Estimation
- Accurately estimating the costs of commercial painting projects which include labor, equipment and materials
- Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and bids
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using company software to provide to clients
- Communicate in a timely fashion with the customer about the estimate costs
- Explain to customers details about the project
- Collaborate with operations team to schedule the job
- Ensure projects are performed accurately and efficiently by working with Project Manager or Foreman
- Participate in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality or design intent
- Assist project managers with cost reviews and change order negotiations
- Order materials for projects as needed
- Order and manage equipment rentals for projects as needed
- Ensuring job is done safely, correctly, & within budget
- Monitors project’s progress and performance
- Resolve technical and operational issues as needed
Business Development
- Assists in business development, such as proposals, RFPs and estimates.
- Plan, schedule and track projects and staffing
- Attend trade shows, conferences and other events during business hours and after business hours to improve Dave Cole Decorator’s brand, image and project opportunities.
- Establish key project metrics and track performance
Sales
- Manages contacts, leads, opportunities and projects using the company’s CRM system
- Meets with sales manager and/or owner or VP on regular basis to review sales funnel, YTD sales performance and other metrics
- Manages a scorecard as directed by manager
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and customers
- Follow-up with customers who are late paying invoices as needed
- Ensuring the customer is satisfied.

- This position is required to drive company vehicles. To maintain this position, employees must maintain an MVR record which allows for insurance coverage.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques that will translate to the commercial painting industry
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
