Summer Part-time Farm Shipping Worker

Hourly: $17-19

Schedule: Open to days | Prefer 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday) 

Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM | willing to consider partial hours  **Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedules and the company's needs**

Environment: Hot, Humid, Dusty Farm 

The Bug Company, a leader in the insect farming industry, is excited to announce a job opening for a Part-time Summer Shipping Team Member in Ham Lake, MN. This part-time position will require the successful candidate to perform their duties on-site, as this is not a remote job. As a part-time Summer Shipping Team Member, you will play a crucial role in live insect packing and shipping for the delivery of high-quality insect-based products.

We are seeking a reliable Summer Part-time Shipping Team Member to help prepare, package, and ship live insects safely to customers. This role requires attention to detail and physical stamina. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare and package live insects for shipping following TBC guidelines
• Ensure insects are handled safely and with care
• Maintain accurate shipping counts
• Lift, carry, and move boxes  (up to 50 lbs.) safely
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Following safety and care protocols
• Using tools like box cutters, tape guns, etc.

What We’re Looking For:

• Comfortable working with live insects daily
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs., kneel, squat, and bend
• Reliable and able to work in a hot, humid, dusty environment
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Able to work independently and with a team
• Basic math (count to 100) and tool-handling skills
• Fluent in English with clear communication
• Willingness to adapt and take on tasks as needed

Work experience is nice to have:

• Working with and caring for live insects or animals
• Linework
• fast-paced work environments
• Manual labor 
• Pick-pack and packing
