Position: Specialty Shipping Team Member

Job Description

The Bug Company, an innovative leader in the breeding and distribution of live insects, is excited to announce a job opening for a Specialty Shipping Team Member. This position plays a crucial role in our company as it involves the direct handling and packaging of live products to ensure they meet the quality standards our customers expect. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about maintaining high standards of product quality and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time position and is not eligible for remote work. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to upholding the excellence for which The Bug Company is known.

Duties and Responsibilities

• This position is primarily focused on packing products and total order assembly under the supervision of a Supervisor/Lead.
• Fill orders and package live insects ensuring the safety and quality of the products.
• Assemble boxes and other packaging materials that meet company and shipping standards.
• Maintain the product's standards of excellence, ensuring all items are securely packed and ready for shipping.
• Feeding and watering multiple live insects, ensuring their vitality during the packaging process.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment to facilitate efficient workflow and minimize errors.
• Working with both established and developing insects, understanding their needs, and handling them accordingly.
• Perform duties with accuracy to ensure high-quality standards in all outgoing shipments.
• Paying keen attention to detail to avoid any errors in order processing.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to meet company goals.
• Perform responsibilities in a friendly and professional manner, considering the well-being of co-workers and other staff members.
• Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management to support team and company objectives.

• Demonstrated ability to handle live insects with care and consideration.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of the role.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy boxes, and navigate a warehouse environment safely.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work assignments as needed.
• A professional demeanor in handling tasks and responsibilities in a friendly manner.
• Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned to meet team and business needs.

Shift

Sunday - Thursday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

**Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedules and company needs*
