The Bug Company is excited to announce an opening for a Full-Time Production Machine Operator. This vital position is based onsite at our Hellertown, PA production facility and involves direct interaction with our insect product lines. As a member of our production team, the candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the efficiency and quality of our production processes that directly impact our customer satisfaction and product excellence. Please note, this is not a remote job opportunity.

The Production Machine Operator will take on the responsibility of managing our automated systems and ensuring seamless production activities. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment, has a knack for mechanics and possesses a strong ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting machines to prevent and resolve operational delays
• Operating production machinery according to standard operating procedures
• Performing line work duties to maintain continuous flow within the production process
• Ensuring all final products meet strict quality standards
• Preparing boxes and other packaging materials for shipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to sanitation requirements and safety guidelines
• Performing assigned tasks with accuracy, care, and speed
• Engaging in professional and friendly interaction with team members
• Handling and managing live insects with care as part of the production process
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Experience operating automated machines in line work, packaging, assembly, etc.
• Ability to work in dusty, loud environments
• Capacity to frequently lift weights up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, squat, kneel, bend, and carry items frequently throughout the workday
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English
• Competency in counting to 100 and performing simple mathematical calculations
• Experience using tools such as box cutters and tape guns safely and efficiently
• Strong multi-tasking abilities and exceptional attention to detail
• Logical thinking and an analytical approach to solving problems
• Ability to work directly with and handle live insects

Shift

Monday - Friday  8:30 am - 5:00 pm
