The Umpqua Indian Utility Cooperative is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Construction Superintendent. This full-time position is perfect for someone with a passion for construction and a desire to lead projects that enhance our community. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be steering the construction activities from inception to completion ensuring everything is aligned with our high standards and objectives.
This role is based on-site, reporting directly to our Project Management Office, and is not eligible for remote work. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing our construction projects, maintaining adherence to our established schedules, and ensuring all operations are performed to our specifications and safety standards. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, supportive environment aimed at growth and excellence in all facets of construction and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise all on-site construction activities and field personnel.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
- Maintain project schedule and update progress reports regularly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections.
- Resolve conflicts and issues on-site promptly and professionally.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Track and manage materials, tools, and equipment on site.
- Document job site activities and maintain accurate field reports.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with building codes and local regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and construction documents.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to job sites as needed.
- Valid and current Oregon Driver’s License with the ability to qualify for the UIUC’s Drivers Program.
