The Cow Creek Health & Wellness Center is excited to announce a job opening for a Medical Receptionist at our health facility in Canyonville, OR. This full-time position offers an opportunity to play an essential role in the daily operations of our Health & Wellness Center. As the front-facing member of our team, the Medical Receptionist ensures a professional and welcoming environment for our patients and visitors. This position is not eligible for remote work; candidates must be prepared to commute and work onsite at the Canyonville location.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients entering the Health & Wellness Center, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of healthcare practice protocols and apply them effectively in daily assignments and tasks.
- Accurately obtain and enter patient demographic information, update insurance details, and ensure accuracy of billing and patient health records with each visit.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Patient Management and Scheduling System (PMAS) following specific guidelines.
- Support medical staff by managing consultations, referrals, case management, patient reminders, follow-ups, and other related tasks.
- Perform clerical activities and support duties as directed by the Clinic Manager or Supervisor.
- Process patient co-pays and balance payments in accordance with established financial policies, maintaining an accurate daily log of transactions.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all patient information, adhering strictly to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about all programs and services offered at the Health & Wellness Center.
- Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities and participate in required meetings and training.
Requirements
- Must be able to commute to all clinic locations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Two years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Experience with managing scheduling of referrals and consultations is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of office procedures and equipment, and proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and with individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
