The Umpqua Indian Utility Cooperative is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Full-Time Maintenance Technician. Based at our primary location, this role is pivotal in ensuring that all physical assets are maintained to the highest standards. From routine maintenance to more complex repairs, the Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and promoting efficiency across all operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine building maintenance tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Maintain company grounds with duties such as mowing, trimming, snow removal, debris cleanup, and general landscaping.
- Undertake light mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company vehicles and small engines, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, and filter replacements.
- Inspect, service, and repair various tools, machinery, and operational equipment.
- Keep up-to-date with preventative maintenance schedules for facilities, vehicles, and equipment to ensure timely servicing and adherence to compliance standards.
- Manage inventory control for maintenance tools, supplies, parts, and equipment, maintaining adequate stock levels and coordinating the ordering of new supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and inventory documentation to track and report on maintenance activities.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with established safety standards and company policies.
- Assist with emergency repairs and respond promptly to urgent maintenance calls as required.
- Work with vendors and contractors to arrange for specialized repairs or inspections that exceed in-house capabilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or a mechanical field preferred.
- Basic understanding of building systems, light automotive repair, and maintenance of small equipment.
- Experience in inventory management or stock control systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in safely operating a variety of hand and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage maintenance schedules.
- Keen attention to detail with a high degree of safety awareness.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory and other maintenance records.
