The Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Mental Health Therapist. Position Purpose
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to provide vital counseling and therapy services to individuals, groups, and families. Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting comprehensive assessments, accurately diagnosing mental health disorders, and developing personalized treatment plans. Additionally, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring holistic and integrated care for our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Help patients identify and address underlying issues contributing to their mental health challenges.
- Teach patients healthy coping mechanisms and relaxation techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patients records and documentation.
- Stay current on best practices and evidence-based treatment modalities in the field of mental health.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Hold current & unencumbered certification with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists or Oregon Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
- Proven experience providing therapy and counseling services to individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.
- Strong understanding of various mental health disorders and treatment approaches.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Empathy and compassion for individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with ethical guidelines and professional standards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage a caseload of patients.
