Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist journeymen electricians with the installation of electrical systems, including conduits, wiring, switches, and fixtures.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety meetings to ensure work is completed according to federal, state, and local safety standards.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and tools.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and hardware.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to effectively assist in installations and repairs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to facilitate operations and safety on site.
- Operate power tools and other specialized machinery for electrical tasks.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and seminars to keep up-to-date with the latest electrical codes and new technologies in the field.
- Troubleshoot and solve basic electrical issues under the supervision of a licensed electrician.
- Assist in conducting tests and inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and functionality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent educational certification.
- Criminal background check with no felonies in last 7 years.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and components is preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and working in various conditions.
- Punctual, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to learning and applying safety standards and regulations.
- Availability to work full-time hours, including weekends or evenings as required.
