Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance and troubleshoot issues to identify hazards or malfunctions.
  • Adhere to state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components for faults.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and testing on electrical systems, and ensure installations are functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Direct and train workers and apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Ensure that all work implemented adheres to the quality and safety standards of the industry and our company protocols.
  • Collaborate with construction workers, architects, and in-house project coordinators to ensure effective electrical installations.
  • Simulate and test machine/electrical device operations.
  • Examine electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions using visual inspections, testing devices, and software system controls.
  • Stay up to date on best practices in the electrical industry and advancements in technology.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an electrician; experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems is compulsory.
  • Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
  • Valid license to practice profession from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, troubleshooting, and all maintenance and repair work.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle electrical tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relations with professionals, colleagues, and clients alike.
  • Attention to detail and impeccable safety records are crucial for this role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership skills when needed.
