Dr. Pete N. Mellas, DMD, MS, PLLC is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist at our reputable periodontal practice. Located in the Scottsdale/North Phoenix area, our practice provides high-quality dental care with a focus on periodontal health. We are currently looking to fill a part-time position that requires work for 1-2 days per week with a flexible schedule on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. There may be potential to expand working days to include Wednesdays in the future.
This is a non-remote job that demands a proactive and efficient professional who can effectively manage time and deliver exceptional patient care during each hourly scheduled appointment. Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing and updating patient health history.
- Discussing and reiterating treatment plans and options with patients.
- Conducting oral cancer screenings and providing oral hygiene instructions.
- Executing comprehensive periodontal charting.
- Performing dental prophylaxis, polishing, and scaling.
- Taking dental radiographs (x-rays).
- Ensuring the sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Scheduling continuing care and follow-up appointments.
- Utilizing Dentrix software for patient management and Dexis imaging systems.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Current dental hygienist licensure in the state of Arizona.
- Certification in dental anesthesia.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and team members effectively.
- Ability to work efficiently on an hourly appointment basis, ensuring timely management of scheduled patients.
- Strong commitment to adhering to all safety and infection control standards.
- Proficiency with dental software, preferably Dentrix, and familiarity with Dexis imaging solutions.
- Team player attitude with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
