Kal’s Motor Group, a trusted and family-owned business since 1975, is growing fast and looking for an experienced Mechanic Shop Lead to join our dynamic team in Wadena, MN.

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a motivated and hands-on Shop Lead who can manage the daily operations of our busy mechanic shop while also staying involved in the work themselves. This individual will take charge of the workflow, making sure all technicians have what they need—parts, job details, and clear timelines—to keep repairs moving efficiently.  The Shop Lead will work directly under the Service Manager, helping to meet daily goals and shop expectations. You’ll collaborate on job prioritization, scheduling, and team coordination to ensure smooth operations across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the mechanic shop
• Oversee and assist other technicians in job flow, parts ordering, and scheduling
• Work directly with the Service Manager to help meet daily goals and expectations
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure repair timelines are met
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance as needed (this is a working lead role)
• Help manage and maintain the retail service schedule and shop workflow
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a mechanic and/or shop foreman/lead
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Clean driving record
• Willingness to hustle, grow, and be a part of a scaling business

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
