Controller – Hybrid position

Salary Range:  $120,000 - $145,000 year

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join our team as a Controller. 

The Controller serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for directing all accounting, treasury, financial reporting, budgeting, audit, compliance, and information technology functions within the company. This role provides strategic financial leadership, ensures the integrity of financial operations, and delivers critical insights that support executive decision-making and long-term organizational success. Additionally, this position oversees PCR’s centralized payment operations, ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time to maximize available discounts. Within central pay processing, this position is responsible for managing cash flow and maintaining operations in accordance with established policies and guidelines set by PCR. 

What You Will Do 

  • Accounting Operations and Rebate Payments 
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate all accounting operations and financial reporting activities.  
  • Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy.  
  • Oversee the timely processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, collections, journal entries, and general ledger transactions. 
  • Review and approve monthly reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely financial close processes. 
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, including cash flow reporting, for executive leadership.  

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning 

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasts, and variance analysis to support organizational planning and performance management. 
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish annual goals, quarterly objectives, and strategic initiatives.  
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations that support growth, profitability, and risk management decisions.  

Treasury, Audit & Compliance 

  • Oversee cash management, treasury operations, and financing activities while maintaining strong banking relationships.  
  • Manage the annual independent audit process and coordinate with auditors to ensure successful completion.  
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements, tax filings, and accounting standards.  
  • Maintain effective relationships with auditors, insurance providers, financial institutions, vendors, and shareholders.  

Information Technology Oversight 

  • Provide leadership and management oversight for the company's information technology function.  
  • Collaborate with internal departments and technology teams to identify business needs and support technology solutions.  
  • Ensure technology assets, systems, and infrastructure remain secure, current, and aligned with business objectives.  

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead accounting and IT team members.  
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and contribute to organization-wide decision making. 

About You 

You are a hands-on Controller who can effectively operate within our systems, execute critical accounting functions, and continuously improve processes through automation and operational efficiencies. You are able to identify opportunities to optimize team performance and enhance scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.  
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years in a management role.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience leading teams and developing talent.  
  • CPA designation preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.  
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management.  
  • Proven experience implementing and managing internal controls and accounting processes.  
  • Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica preferred.  
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Ability to travel occasionally for company meetings and industry events.
