Dental Patient Care & Insurance Coordinator 

Location: Sunset District, San Francisco, CA

• Pay: $32.00 – $42.00 per hour (Based on Experience

• Schedule: Monday – Thursday | Occasional Fridays (every 1–2 months)

The Role: Patient Advocate & Operational Lead

You are the heart of our front office. Your role is to balance technical expertise with a warm, empathetic approach. This is a fully on-site role where you will be the primary point of contact for our patients and a vital partner to our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Advocacy: You are the face of our practice. Because we prioritize quality over speed, we need a coordinator who can manage the lobby with grace, keeping patients informed and comfortable when a complex clinical case runs us behind schedule.
• Insurance & Financial Accuracy: Perform thorough insurance breakdowns and verify benefits with a minimum 95% accuracy rate. You are the expert who ensures our patients have a clear financial path to the care they need with no "surprises."
• Open Dental & Dexis Mastery: Utilize Open Dental to manage the Treatment Planner and accounts, and ensure Dexis digital images are correctly organized and attached to claims for seamless reimbursement.
• Strategic Flow: Manage the "ebb and flow" of a busy clinical day by understanding the rhythm of Doctor Time vs. Assistant Time. You will maintain a productive schedule that allows the clinical team to focus on the patient in the chair.

  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 2+ Years of Dental Front Office experience (Required).
• Software: High proficiency in Open Dental and Dexis (Highly Preferred).
• Clinical Intelligence: A solid understanding of dental procedures to explain them clearly and empathetically to patients.
• Emotional Intelligence: The ability to stay calm, kind, and professional even when clinical care becomes unpredictable.
• Detail-Oriented: A natural inclination toward accuracy in billing, coding, and scheduling.
