Senior Inventory Manager – Manufacturing Operations

Position Summary
We are hiring a Senior Inventory Manager with strong experience in manufacturing environments to lead inventory control across our production and warehouse operations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring optimal stock levels, materials planning, and alignment with production cycles. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of inventory flow in a make-to-stock or make-to-order manufacturing setting and brings 5+ years of hands-on experience in inventory and materials management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end inventory management for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods across warehouses and production lines
- Collaborate with Production Planning, Procurement, and Engineering teams to align inventory strategies with production schedules and BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy
- Implement lean inventory strategies to reduce waste, improve turnover
- Monitor and maintain inventory control systems, ensuring real-time visibility of material movement and availability
- Lead physical and cycle count programs, including reconciliation and root cause analysis of variances
- Ensure MRP/ERP systems are accurately maintained with correct inventory parameters
- Analyze material usage and consumption trends to support demand forecasting and capacity planning
- Support new product introduction by ensuring inventory readiness and proper SKU setup
- Develop and mentor warehouse and inventory control teams, instilling best practices in accuracy, safety, and process improvement
- Maintain compliance with quality standards, OSHA regulations, and internal SOPs related to materials handling and storage
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of inventory and materials management experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Proven expertise in managing raw materials, and finished goods inventory
- Familiar with lean manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, and JIT inventory principles
- Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills across multiple departments
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for inventory forecasting and optimization
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
